Shenley Village Cricket Club News story

Help Needed

26 Jun 2018

SVCC are looking for help from our members on two fronts...

Firstly, from next Saturday, the Club will be responsible for laying on cricket teas. Leslie Orchard, (Graydon's Mum), has put together a band of helpers, but we could do with a few more Mum's, Wives or Girlfriends to work in pairs to help out on Saturday afternoons. Sandwiches, cakes, fruit etc. will be provided, we simply need help setting it all out and tidying up afterwards. If we can get say three more teams of two, then the most any one team would need to do is two teas between now and the end of the season.

Secondly, Shenley plays host to the Herts Junior League U13A Finals Day on Sunday, July 8th. We need four members to umpire the two semi-finals, then the 3rd/4th place play-off, (if there is one), and the final itself. The Club will pay up to £20 for each of the four 20 over games to anyone who does umpire. The two semi-finals will start at 10am, with the Final and 3rd/4th place play-off, (if there is one), both starting around 1:30pm. I also need a senior member of committee to hand out the cup and medals, which have been supplied by the ECB. Unfortunately, I will be away on the 8th or else I would have managed all this on the day, so do also need someone who would be prepared to manage what is a very prestigious day on behalf of the Club.

Please come back to me on both the teas and the Sunday, July 8th Finals Day if you can help out - please, we really do need your help with both.

Best wishes, George
