As previously communicated, thanks to the fine efforts of our members we were recently awarded a £2000 grant under the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme. These funds will be used to improve the ground facilities at Shenley and as a first step in this process we have arranged a professional survey to identify and prioritise the work that needs to be done on the wickets and outfield and any machinery and equipment that would help the cause. Based on the results of the survey we will put together a development plan and, led by Ray McLennan, will simultaneously apply for grants and funding to finance the work. The Tesco scheme is one that we intend to reapply for in the near future so it would be helpful if you could continue to collect and store the blue tokens to give us a head start if and when we are accepted back onto the scheme.
