Shenley Village C C U11 Group 3 v Chorleywood on Wed 14 May 2008 at 6.00 pm
Shenley Village C C Lost by 10 Wickets
Shenley batted first, started well but slowly were reduced by adverse fielding advice. Monjack falling first by stumping on 6 (Score 40-1), was soon followed by Marshall on 27 (score 52-2). Myers welcomed the games with a 8 ball 13 including 3 fours, but soon fell to a simply straight ball, then Leigh, Belchark, Manzi and Davis came and followed, but were able to run up a reasonable 102-6 off their 20 overs.
Shenley came into field and starting the first couple of overs with Marshall and Ahmed, seemed to be in control, but suddenly the number of extras increased and increased and increased, finally burdening the side with a lose, as 56% of runns conceeded came from that of extras (29 wides, 19 No Balls and 7 byes).
In the end, although the sudden change in weather and late weather, Shenley had shown vunerability, but these things can be improved, and again team spirit kept popping in, but wasnt enough on this occasion to win the game.
Keep going boys, we can still do it.
