Shenley Village C C U14 Group 2 v Berkhamsted on Tue 13 May 2008 at 6.00 pm
Shenley Village C C Lost 5pts

A little bit more intense this game in respect to the last. This was because SVCC won the toss elected field and the opposition were about 40 after 10 overs. This was a great stride forward for the team. However, things started to slip after about the 14th over. Holding Berkhamsted to about 60 runs at this point, extras totaling 20 runs and the rest given away by loose and inaccurate bowling with poor fielding to boot gave the away side 136 runs at the end of their innings. Our batting wasn’t great with a few notable exceptions. More effort in the field and more practice at nets when it comes to last session overs bowling seems to be in order. Some points to look at when running between the wickets, grounding bats, running the first run quickly and concentration are the needs of the future. Having said all this the overall performance was not too bad. We were perhaps a little unlucky while batting and things seem to slip away from us only late on when we were in the field. Things need tightening up to move forward. We shall be working on this.
