The Match started reasonably comfortably and St Albans being at 31 for 2 after 7 overs, things were looking promising for SVCC. In fact 67 for 4 also looked manageable after 11 overs. However, it all fell apart after that. In part because St Albans accelerated the run rate but mostly because SVCC bowling later in the innings was not tight enough leaving an eventual 141 to chase despite Will Gerrards impressive 15 for 3.

Hopeful at the start, 141 although a tough target, SNG is a batting track. It was quickly apparent though St Albans bowling held a tight line and not too many opportunities came SVCC's way. Nonetheless there were a few notable batting performances. Jacob Haftel who opened at 2 racked up a quick scoring 15, Ben Halmer came in late and produced and unbeaten 10 and Milind Chohan knock up 8.
