Autumn Nets
Many thanks to the 17 senior members who sampled senior training at Beaumont School this autumn. Running an autumn programme secures our off-season venues and makes an enormous difference to the quality of training. Thank you.
This Sunday is the last session for the term. If you’re yet to attend and would like to check it out then by all means drop in and we can sort out a day rate.
Winter Nets
Senior winter nets begin Sunday January 12th and run for 12 weeks. There will be a break on the 16th February Nets conclude on the 5th April. Senior nets will run from 4.00pm till 6.00pm.
The move to Beaumont significantly improves the autumn and winter senior programme. The new facility has 5 cricket lanes plus room to spare. You will get several times the training volume out of each visit (in comparison with Herts Uni).

- Side arm and bowling machine nets
- Bowling specific training – small group focus
- Fielding practise
- Greater training volume and more variety
- Net practise with longer run ups and realistic bounce

* If you can make less than half of the sessions then please get in touch and we can sort out a suitable programme price. Please note that you will be able to get 2x/3x the training per session at Beaumont when compared to Hatfield.
LOCATION
The school postcode is AL4 0XB. Please note that navigation apps may take you along Oakwood Drive and through the school. Instead, use the Kingsbury Gardens Entrance off Hatfield Road. After a short drive you will reach the sports hall car park. The entrance to the (unfinished) estate can be found between Oakwood Drive and the Speckled Hen.
Shenley has a “Net Zero” policy on off season training. All proceeds go back into the programme itself. We would like to expand training hours and add coaches; we will need your buy in to do so.
HOW YOU CAN ASSIST YOUR CLUB
- Make payment early (This week/before Christmas). Early payments assist planning and will help us to commit to extra coaching.
- Commit to the winter programme - £80 for 12 sessions is a VERY friendly rate and well worth it even if you can only make half of the sessions. The cricket season begins in January!
- Recruit new members - possibly the best way to support your club. Now is the time to do so. In addition to the senior nets we have a winter programme for 6-16 year olds. Spread the word and pass on the Shenley junior section email address svcc_jnrs@fastmail.co.uk as a point of contact for more junior information.
