Old Camdenians II v Shenley Village C C Second XI on Sat 30 Apr 2005 at 13:30
Match was Drawn
Shenley travelled to Old Camdenians in Mill Hill on saturday looking for a winning start to the season.Although denied by a century from the opposition no.3 (the next highest score was 22) a few valuable lessons were learned- especially by new skipper Steve Scott. On winning the toss and electing to field in the damp conditions, opening bowler Kevin Wood (12.4 overs 2 mdns 2 for 29) bowled well. Unfortunately the only support he received was from Lloyd Willingham(12 overs, 4 mdns, 4 for 44) allowing Old Cams to reach 191 for 8 in 53 overs.
in reply, Shenley lost wickets regularly with only Stuart Gymer(46), Dalip Tahil (25), Ed Lilywhite(24 n. o.) and shenley's man of the match Lloyd Willingham(18) contributing, meaning they had to settle for a draw at 176 for 8 in 47 overs. The middle order batsmen will be looking to open their accounts next week when Shenley entertain winners this week Waltham X rosedale at the cricket centre in Radlett Lane, starting at 1.30 p.m.
