Dear Parent/Carer,
A belated welcome from Shenley Village Cricket Club to you and your children for the much anticipated, albeit shortened 2020 season. We hope that your family will enjoy being a club member and benefit from the coaching, training and matches, as well as the social interactions available at the club.
The aim of this communication is to provide information that may be helpful to existing and new members. Please don’t hesitate to ask me (Juniors Club Welfare Officer) – or George White (Club Welfare Officer), or any committee member of coach if you have any questions not answered in this email. The club is run by volunteers, so we welcome offers of help from all members, and hope that you will be able to get involved.
We are a Clubmark club and we adhere to the ‘Safe Hands’ Policy for Safeguarding Children in Cricket. All the adults of the club who work with children and meet the necessary criteria are vetted by the ECB. This includes the enhanced DBS and ‘Barred List’ checks.

Whilst I'm certain that your child will be happy and content at the club, we understand that questions, concerns or difficulties may arise. Please feel free to raise these as soon as possible, so we can address things at the earliest opportunity. If you have a question regarding coaching please approach the coach in the first instance. However please do not interrupt coaching sessions, especially nets practice, as this may distract the coach when he/she needs to be supervising children. Our coaches will be happy to speak to you before or after training, or an agreed convenient time. If you have questions about kit requirements, training times, pick up arrangements, etc please speak to your team manager, coach or Kris Nissen.
If you have any concern about your child or another child, or about the behaviour of an adult at the club please speak to me directly, or George White (Club Welfare Officers). If your concern is about either of us, you may contact our Chairperson, Geoff Evans.
