Welcome to the Shenley Village Cricket Club website
Based at the prestigious Shenley Cricket Centre, we field four adult teams and junior teams from Under 9 through to Under 17. We have twice won the President's Trophy for Hertfordshire League club of the year, in 2002 and 2014. We are a progressive club and in 2019 our 2nd XI and 3rd XI both won their respective Divisions. Our First XI currently play in the ECB Premier League (Championship Division) of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League. We have a thriving junior section and in 2017 our under 13 side became National champions. In 2019 the same group of players repeated the feat by becoming under 15 National champions, only the second team in the country to achieve this repeat success in the history of the competition. We have developed a successful junior pathway and many of our young players are now playing senior cricket. Our Under 15 and Under 10 sides were also both crowned County champions in 2019. Current Shenley players include Charlie Thurston of Northants CC who has been with us since the age of 8. Players to have played for the club in recent times include Tom Bruce the New Zealand T20 international who played for Sussex in 2018 and Sarfaraz Khan who has played in the IPL. Past players include Zimbabwe international Dion Ebrahim and SrI Lankan Test players Upal Tharanga and Farveez Maharoof.
We have a varied social calendar, including matches against the MCC, touring sides and an annual dinner/dance. New members of all abilities are always encouraged and can contact us through the form on this site to ask about the club. Shenley Village C.C. is an ECB focus club and has Clubmark accreditation.
