I hope you had a lovely Christmas and have finished all the chocs before you start your annual January fast. I wish you a healthy and happy 2024 with lots of good fortune for Shenley Village Cricket Club (SVCC).
As you start planning the months ahead here's a date for your new diary and wall calendar.
I am emailing with details of SVCC’s annual Dinner Dance and with the hope you will be able to come and support our Club.
We have a great night lined up with good food, laughing with friends, and dancing.
No speeches or awards just loads of fun including quiz, raffle, heads and tails, lucky number draw, and dancefloor antics.
Here are the details…..
Date: Friday 8th March, 2024.
Time: Doors open at 7pm. Meal starts at 7.45pm. Finish at midnight
Venue: Porters Park Golf Club, Radlett.
Food: 3 course dinner served to you at the table, plus coffee & chocolates.
You can choose from the following, please advise your choice when booking ticket;
Starter
1) Smoked Haddock & Salmon fishcake with Dill cream
2) Chicken & Smoked Ham terrine with Apple & Cider chutney
3) Pate stuffed field Mushroom with garlic and parsley butter
4) Roast Vegetable teriyaki with rice noodles
Main
1) Chicken Wellington (chicken breast stuffed with pate and parma ham covered with filo pastry) with Stilton & Red wine sauce
2) Baked Sea Bass with Dill and white wine sauce
3) Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni with a cheese and tomato sauce
All mains served with seasonal vegetables and gratin dauphinoise potatoes
Dessert
1) Sticky Toffee pudding & ice cream
2) Fresh fruit salad & ice cream
3) Cheese & biscuits
Followed by Coffee/Tea and chocolates
Price: £50 per person
Dress code: It’s a chance for you to impress colleagues with how smart you can look. Jacket and tie please but Dinner suits are very welcome, and as it is between St David’s Day and St Patrick's Day a tinge of red and/or green will be admired.
Payment: Please pay by either bank transfer to Shenley Village CC account (Acc number 60390763, Sort code 204734 ) using your surname and DD as reference, or by cheque payable to SVCC and posted to me (20 Russet Drive, Shenley, Herts, WD7 9RH)
Let me know if you are mustering a group who want to be seated on the same table. Tables are typically for 10 but we can squeeze in 2 tables of 12. But please be quick to confirm as we have limited capacity in the room.
We are also running a ‘Lucky number board’ on the evening with 3 big cash prizes. £2.50 buys a number on the board. Just include in your overall payment and let me know the number(s) between 1 and 150 that you would like.
If you have a raffle prize you would like to donate it would be very welcome.
