Hello Clubmates
It is just 4 weeks to go to our Club’s most important fund-raising event of the year, let me please make a further plea for your support.
At this Friday’s AGM we will be reporting that the 2023 Accounts showed an operating loss of nearly £6k, confirming Shenley Village Cricket Club is on very fragile financial footing. It costs around £80k a year to rent the pitches, cover ground maintenenance costs, provide coaching and hire facilities, buy balls, get insurance, meet League fees, and pay for all the other bits and pieces that are needed to provide you or your children with some of the best playing and practice facilities in the county.
Membership fee income covers less than half of our annual cost base. We rely on fund-raising events like the Dinner Dance to help pay for the rest, and that in turn relies on lots of people giving their support. So please do your bit to help keep SVCC running.
The best way you can do this is to come to the Dinner Dance (details below).
If you cannot make it or it is not your thing then you could help by buying some lucky numbers at £2.50 each, donating a raffle prize, or making a donation.

2) Chicken & Smoked Ham terrine with Apple & Cider chutney
3) Pate stuffed field Mushroom with garlic and parsley butter
4) Roast Vegetable teriyaki with rice noodles
Main
1) Chicken Wellington (chicken breast stuffed with pate and parma ham covered with filo pastry) with Stilton & Red wine sauce
2) Baked Sea Bass with Dill and white wine sauce
3) Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni with a cheese and tomato sauce
All mains served with seasonal vegetables and gratin dauphinoise potatoes
Dessert
1) Sticky Toffee pudding & ice cream
2) Fresh fruit salad & ice cream
3) Cheese & biscuits
Followed by Coffee/Tea and chocolates
