It is great to be able to report fantastic achievements by our Junior section.
Three out of six age group teams made the County Finals days yesterday, which we think is the highest success rate for any single club in Hertfordshire.
Our Under15s played their semi final against Letchworth. Some very impressive skills were on show in fielding, bowling and batting. Chasing a big total we fell 51 runs short to the team that went on to be County champions.
Our Under14s were up against Broxbourne in their semi final. After mustering a modest total of 129 in their 20 overs, a good bowling display aided by solid catching saw us win by 7 runs although it added some worry lines to the nervous watching families. A very strong Bishops Stortford team beat us in the final.
Our Under11s demolished Berkhamsted in their semi final bowling them out for just 42 and getting the runs for the loss of just 1 wicket with 14 overs to spare. They then went on to beat Harpenden by 8 wickets in the final.
Congratulations to all the boys for representing Shenley Village CC so well, and to the coaches and supporters for all their efforts.
