Hello Clubmates
This is a reminder that The Shenley Village CC AGM is at 7pm on Fri 21st Feb 2025, at Porters Park Golf Club in Radlett. It is an important meeting to hear about SVCC’s financial performance, and to discuss and vote on key strategic issues. It’s also a chance to have a Winter drink and catch up with some friends.
I would also like to highlight that SVCC is looking for volunteers to take on the following key roles in the running of the Club. Please let me know if you are interested.
Fixture Secretary
This is for the 100+ fixtures played by our Junior teams. It mainly involves a burst of work Feb-April, liaising with counterparts at other clubs, and our Junior age group Managers to agree the dates for Junior fixtures. Spreadsheet and good communication skills are required along with persistence. Geoff Evans has been doing this role for many years and is willing to work alongside a successor this year as a handover.
Membership Secretary
This would be to cover both Junior and Adult sections. It involves communicating the payment amounts and methods to all members, recording incoming payments, and chasing late payments. Most of the work happens Feb-May with further bursts in Oct and Jan. Again, spreadsheet skills are required and a persistent nature.
Safeguarding Officer
This is an important role but with a comparatively light work load. Ideally, the role is best done by a parent of one of our Juniors as it centres on providing a contact point for any child safeguarding issues. The role also initiates and oversees the DBS checks for those in our Club who need DBS certificates.
Co-Chairman
I continue to look for help in sharing the workload that currently falls to the Chairman. It would be great to have a person or two who could take on some the tasks listed on the attached sheet.
