I hope you had a lovely Christmas and have finished all the goodies before you start your annual January fast. I wish you a healthy and happy 2026 with lots of good fortune for Shenley Village Cricket Club (SVCC).
As you start planning the months ahead here's a date for your new diary and wall calendar…..Fri 17th April 2026.
I am emailing with details of SVCC’s annual Dinner Dance and with the hope you will be able to come and support our Club.
We have a great night lined up with good food, dancing and friendly company.
It will also be an opportunity to applaud our adult player award winners, and sees the second year of the ‘Rahul Gajjar’ awards presented for the outstanding performance by a Junior and an Adult.
There will be loads of fun including quiz, raffle, heads and tails, big number draw, and some fabulous bargains in our auction.
Here are the details…..
Date: Friday 17th April, 2026.
Time: Doors open at 7pm. Meal starts around 8pm. Finish at midnight
Venue: Porters Park Golf Club, Radlett.
Food: 3 course dinner served to you at the table, plus coffee & chocolates.
You can choose from the following, please advise your choice when booking ticket;
Starter
1) Smoked Haddock Pearls (small fish cakes) with Butter Sauce
2) Wild Boar and Plum Pate served with Melba Toast and Apple Chutney
3) Potato and Truffle Gratin with Stilton Cream (v)
4) Falafel and Hummus with toasted sourdough (ve)
Mains
1) Chicken Wellington with a Red Wine Jus
2) Baked Sea Bass in a White Wine Sauce
3) Vegetable Wellington (v)
4) Roasted Vegetable stuffed Aubergine with a Madeira Jus (ve)
All mains served with seasonal vegetables and gratin dauphinoise potatoes
Dessert
1) Sticky Toffee Pudding with Ice Cream
2) Fresh Fruit Salad
3) Cheese and Biscuits
4) Tiramisu
5) Chocolate Brownie (ve)
Followed by Coffee/Tea and chocolates
Price: £50 per person
Dress code: It’s a chance for you to impress colleagues with how smart you can look. Jacket and tie please but Dinner suits are very welcome.
Payment: Please pay by bank transfer to Shenley Village CC account (Acc number 60390763, Sort code 204734 ) using your ‘surname and DD’ as reference.
Let me know if you are mustering a group who want to be seated on the same table. Tables are typically for 10. But please be quick to confirm as we have limited capacity in the room.
We are also running a ‘Lucky number board’ on the evening with 3 big cash prizes. £2.50 buys a number on the board. Just include in your overall payment and let me know the number(s) between 1 and 150 that you would like.
If you have a raffle prize you would like to donate it would be very welcome.
