Hi everyone,
Just a quick email to let you know about some upcoming social events at Shenley Cricket Club over the next few months. These events are always a great chance for clubmates, families, and friends of the club to get together away from the boundary rope - and they are also hugely important fundraisers for the club.
We always get great support from throughout the club. This year we’d really love to see even more parents and families from the junior section coming along and getting involved too. Everybody is welcome!
Here’s what’s coming up:
COOMBSY BINGO NIGHT
Saturday 6th June
Andrew Coombs returns to run another legendary night of bingo, games and general chaos after the huge success of last year’s event.
There’ll be prizes handed out throughout the night, plenty of laughs, and a great atmosphere in the bar. It’s a brilliant chance for everyone around the club to get together socially, and the bar will have an extension until late.
Whether you’re in it to win it or just there for the social, do come along!
ENGLAND VS PANAMA – WORLD CUP SCREENING
Saturday 27th June
10pm Kick Off – Upstairs Bar
We’ll be screening England’s final World Cup group game upstairs in the bar.
The bar will be fully stocked, there’ll be an extension until midnight, and there are rumours the beer pong table may even make an appearance…
Will Tuchel have them playing exciting football, or will it be a Southgate 1-0 classic?
SVCC 6-A-SIDE DAY
Sunday 12th July
The return of this fantastic competition after a 15-year hiatus!
Open to all members - including non-cricketers - this promises to be a brilliant club day with matches taking place across both the main ground and nursery ground.
Four teams have already entered and there is still plenty of room for more.
Entry options:
• Team entry: £90
• Individual entry: £15
The bar will be open all day, food will be available, and it should be a superb atmosphere around the club throughout the day.

QUIZ NIGHT
Saturday 22nd August
Our much-loved annual quiz night returns, hosted once again by our esteemed chairman and resident quizmaster Chris Stanley.
Someone needs to take the crown off the Thomsons after last year’s victory…
Expect another great fun night with plenty of laughs, healthy debate over answers, and the bar extended until late.
We really hope to see as many people as possible at these events over the summer. The social side of the club is a huge part of what makes Shenley special, and the more we can bring together players, parents, families and supporters from across the club, the better.
