I hope everyone is well and you’re making the most of the lesser sports that cricketers humour themselves with at the end of the year. If the autumn rains have got you down, then I have some news for you.
Autumn nets have arrived!
We now have use of Aldenham and Beaumont School for 5 hours each before and after Christmas. The introduction of Autumn nets is a big addition to the Shenley membership experience. The mostly indoor cricket sessions will be fun, fast and focus on match scenarios and game play. There will also be space and time for skills and drills.
There are very few clubs that offer an autumn programme. Factor in our “Net Zero” policy (all proceeds are put back into the venue, coaching, equipment, reducing costs) and Shenley Village has the best autumn/winter programme in Hertfordshire. At a very friendly £80 the pre-Christmas sessions are not to be missed!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The 10 week autumn programme is £80 when paid before the end of October and £100 as of Nov 1st.
Aldenham School (Saturdays, 19th October – 21st December)*
U11, U12, U13 - 1.20pm-3.00pm*
U14, U15, U16B - 3.00pm-4.40pm*
U16A, U17+, Adult - 4.40pm-6.20pm*
Beaumont School (Sundays, 20th October – 22nd December)
Minis (U6, U7, U8) - 1.00pm-2.00pm
U9, U10 - 1.00pm-2.00pm
Privates - 2.00pm-4.30pm
Adults - 4.30pm-6.00pm
*Aldenham sessions are mostly 1 hour and 40 mins long. 20 mins more than post Christmas nets. Some dates and times were unavailable and there will be break weeks. We have extended the session times to make up for the missed sessions. A complete schedule will be communicated shortly.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
- Commit to the autumn programme – Playing match scenario cricket before Christmas is a very special opportunity. We would like all members to attend.
- Sign up friends and new recruits! New members will pay the early bird rate of £80 or a fair proportion pending date of first registration. Autumn is the best time of year to introduce new players.
- Make payment by the 20th October. Early payments help us to organise the programme and as always are MUCH appreciated. There is incentive to pay before Nov 1st. The earlier the better!
The fantastic response to and uptake of the winter programme at the start of the year made it the success it was. In order to claim Aldenham and Beaumont (suitable venues are very difficult to come by) we have had to make do with what was available pre Christmas and book last minute. We will need to be a little creative in order to work around venue availability. By next year we will have an uninterrupted run of regular session times, avoid the school break weekends and most likely expand to a 12 week programme like we did in January.
