Autumn Nets - Seniors

17 Oct 2019

Shenley Members – Seniors

 Autumn nets have arrived!

We now have use of the indoor cricket facilities at Beaumont School. Senior nets will be held on Sundays between 4.30pm and 6.00pm. The ten week autumn programme begins this weekend (Sunday 20th October) and will run until Christmas.

The move to Beaumont significantly improves the autumn and winter programme. The new facility has 5 cricket lanes plus room to spare. You will get several times the training volume out of each visit.

Shenley has a “Net Zero” policy on off season training. All proceeds will go back into the programme itself. We would like to expand training hours and add coaches. We will need your buy in to do so!

 NEW PROGRAMME

  • Side arm and bowling machine nets
  • Bowling specific training – small group focus
  • Fielding practise
  • Greater training volume and more variety
  • Net practise with longer run ups and more realistic bounce

 PAYMENT

 * If you can make less than half of the sessions then please be in touch and we can sort out a suitable programme price. Please note that you will be able to get 2x/3x the training per session at Beaumont when compared to Hatfield.

 LOCATION

The school postcode is AL4 0XB. Please note that navigation apps may take you along Oakwood Drive and through the school. Instead, use the Kingsbury Gardens Entrance off Hatfield Road. After a short drive you will reach the sports hall car park. The entrance to the (unfinished) estate can be found between Oakwood Drive and the Speckled Hen.

HOW YOU CAN ASSIST YOUR CLUB

  • Commit to the autumn programme. We would like to reward those that attend both autumn and winter nets. We require a good turn out to make this happen.
  • Make payment as soon as possible. Having a better idea of numbers will help us to make session times longer and add coaches.
  • Learn how to use a bowling machine, use a side arm, run fielding drills, and more. Several small group activities run by players increase training volume and free up coaches.
  • Attend this Sunday (20th October). Securing the training venues (Beaumont and Aldenham) has not been easy. Whilst it is late notice (the venues have only just become available) the opportunity it is too good to pass up.

 See you Sunday!
