Yes, it is that time of year again in that Shenley Village CC membership is almost due!
For those that were at the AGM, or indeed have read the minutes thereof, (which may be found on the Club website), you will have heard/read that the Club is in a very precarious financial position and have become very reliant on our sponsors, fund raising and some very generous members. To put some perspective around this, it costs in the region of £60,000 to £65,000 to provide all the facilities the Club does. Last year, we generated just over £25,000 in membership revenues and in an attempt to try to balance this, we have had no choice but to increase membership fees by an average 10% across the board.
Further, and in terms of helping the Club raise funds, all members over the age of 18 are being levied an additional £20 annually for which each will get a new or additional Give & Win number. This represents a discount of £4 over 12 months, as Give & Win numbers usually cost £2 a month. Where adult members chose to pay their membership monthly, £2 a month has been added to the monthly standing order. Three numbers are drawn monthly, winning prizes ranging from £10 to £50. It would also be greatly appreciated if as many junior member’s parents as possible would also add £20 to their child’s annual subscription as this would really help the Club.
In a slight change to last year, we are offering members the opportunity to pay over 12 months, (rather than the ten months offered last year). However, to assist with cash flow, (we have more than £13,000 to pay the Cricket Centre and ball suppliers before mid-April), we are asking those members who would like to spread their payments, to pay the first three months by the end of this month so that monthly membership is paid full by the end of December.
It goes without saying that for those than can, your making full membership payment by the end of this month will really help our cash flow!
Membership fees for 2020 are as follows:
Adults, (no longer in full time education - includes match fees/tea money) - £385 annually, or £32.40 a month, with £97.20 being due by March 31st, 2020;
The following excludes Give & Win:
University Students, (in full time education - includes match fees/tea money) - £90 annually, or £7.50 a month, with £22.50 being due by March 31st, 2020;
U14’s through U18’s - (includes all match fees/tea money) - £285 annually or £23.75 a month, with £71.25 being due by March 31st, 2020;
Juniors, (U9 through U13 - includes all match fees) - £180 annually or £15 a month, with £45 being due by March 31st, 2020;
A discount of 10% may be applied to the total membership for two members of the same immediate family. 15% may be applied to the total for three two members of the same immediate family.
