The weather is starting to improve, hence the cricket season must be around the corner. Ground preparation is taking place today, (all helpers truly welcome), pre-season friendlies start next weekend, the junior leagues start April 24th, the 1st XI play the preliminary stages of the ECB Adult T/20 on April 29th and the senior league starts Saturday, May 6th.
This year, it gives me great pleasure to announce and indeed thank the Club’s new senior league sponsor, Southall Travel. Thanks too to Computer Exchange, (CeX), have agreed to continue their sponsorship of the junior section and my thanks also to those members who have also made very generous contributions to the Club.
As a result of this new/continued sponsorship, the Club is expecting delivery of brand-new playing kit from ICON Sports. This year, every member, senior and junior, will year receive a new shirt upon payment of their annual subscriptions.

Please note that we must support our sponsors and to this end, the committee has decided that anyone who does not wear the relevant sponsored shirt, (that is a Southall Travel shirt for senior league games and a CeX shirt for junior games), shall be ineligible for selection post May 31st. Whilst some may think this harsh, it is vitally important the Club supports our sponsors, as without them, membership for this year would have had to increase by over £100 on 2022 levels. It is also stipulated by both the Saracens Herts Premier Cricket League and Herts Junior Leagues in their constitutions that a member shall not be eligible to play for a Club unless their annual subscriptions have been paid by May 31st of each season.
As those who were either at the Clubs AGM in February or have read the minutes, (which can be found at https://shenleycc.hitscricket.com/pages/page_36820/2021-AGM-Minutes.aspx), will know, the Club lost nearly £10,000 last year, in part because membership revenue was down by £5,500. However, given we have been very fortunate to welcome Southall Travel and enjoy CeX’s continued support, we have been able to keep the increase in membership subscriptions for 2023, (which includes a new Club sponsored shirt), close to last year’s rates.
Subscription rates for 2023, which includes all match fees and summer outdoor training sessions are:
Adults: £285
University student in full time education: £120
Junior member, (U8 through U15 inclusive): £220
Social/Non-playing: £50
Junior members who will also be playing senior league cricket for the Club, will be required to purchase a senior league, (or Southall Travel), shirt at the subsidised price of £20.
Whilst the Club would truly appreciate membership being paid in full by May 31st latest this year, the committee fully understands costs have sky-rocketed recently, hence are offering members the opportunity to pay the above in five equal instalments, with the first payment being due by Friday, April 14th. If you would prefer to pay by instalment, please respond to this email as soon as possible.
