Shenley Village Cricket Club News story

Membership Reminder

29 Apr 2023

Morning all,

Despite the recent weather, the cricket season officially started for our juniors last Monday, and for our 1st XI, later today. They are playing in the Hertfordshire qualifying leg of the ECB's Senior Club National T/20 competition at Hertford CC - all support welcome. The senior league kicks off next Saturday, May 6th.

Per the email April 8th, annual membership subscriptions are now due. Thank you to the many of you who have paid to time of this email.

However, quite a lot of you have not paid, and given how important a lifeblood membership fees are to the Club, we have this year decided to outsource collection to Excel Sports. The plan is to pass the names, email addresses and telephone numbers of all members who have not either paid in full, or have not yet set up their standing order, (which was supposed to have been done by April 15th), to them next Friday, May 5th. They will then be collecting these fees on behalf of the Club.

Can anyone who has, or who sets up the S/O by this Thursday please advise me by email before 5pm this Thursday, May 4th.

If you would prefer your details were not passed to Excel, then please make payment, or set up your S/O before 5pm next Thursday, May 4th.

Once again, payment details are:

Adults: £285

University student in full time education: £120

Junior member, (U8 through U15 inclusive): £220

Social/Non-playing: £50

Payment should be made to:

A/C Name: Shenley Village Cricket Club

A/C No: 60390763

Sort Code: 20-47-34

Please note that anyone, (senior or junior), who has NOT paid their fees or made at least two S/O payments by May 31st will no longer be eligible for selection. Additionally, their Shenley registrations, (senior and junior), will not be released which means they will not be able to play cricket in Hertfordshire or any of our surrounding counties in 2023. Apologies if this sounds draconian, but the Club lost almost £10,000 pounds last year, with half of this this down to members who did pay their way. This is VERY unfair on those that do.

This said, wishing all of you every success for the season and I look forward to catching up with as many of you as I can on Saturday, May 20th at the Club, where I will be for the 1st XI home fixture against Hemel Hempstead. I will also be at the Club Sunday morning, May 21st for any Junior parents who wish to meet or who have any questions in relation to the Club.

Kind Regards,

George White

Chairman, Shenley Village CC
