Shenley Village Cricket Club News story

SVCC Update

01 May 2020

You may have seen recent announcements from the ECB, the Hertfordshire Senior and Junior Leagues. If not, in essence, all recreational cricket in the UK is currently on hold until July 1st. Accordingly, it is hoped senior league, (limited over only), matches will commence July 11th or 18th, with junior games starting the week of July 13th.

As to our donation drive, once again, huge thanks to all of you who have given to the Club during these really tough times. In terms of donations, we have raised £5,210 of the funds we need to get through the season. 32 adult members have contributed £4,280 and 13 junior parents £930.

These funds are helping us to meet unavoidable commitments and retain our groundsman who is keeping both the Main and Nursery Grounds in great shape. This will enable both senior and juniors to resume cricket as soon as we are given the “all clear”.

If you have not yet made a contribution, then any amount you are able to donate, no matter how small, will be very helpful during this difficult and exceptional time for our club. We are all in this together and every penny counts as we try to survive this Covid 19 crisis.

The Club's bank account number is 60390763, the sort code: 204734.

Please put 'Donation' and your name as the narrative.

Please also feel free to set up a standing order option to spread payments if this helps.

We are also exploring other funding options, our currently applying for a grant from the Sport England Emergency Fund to help us.

Finally, stay safe everyone, have a great weekend, and please – if you can help out your Club...
